Outdoor Christmas decorations are a bit harder to figure out than indoor decorations since they straddle a thin line between festive and tacky. A tree of lights is one of the classier ideas as they liven up the yard using readily available materials such as basketball poles or even the gate itself and can be created to fit into a variety of themes. A tree of lights is a creative way to usher in the season and create a stunning focal point for the decorations and can be used throughout the neighborhood.

Another creative idea is to use mini lights to create jovial Christmas messages to spread joy and cheer. This is a beautiful way to make the house or fence glow and especially to create a personalized decoration using classic Christmas elements. The words can be small or large and be displayed on a variety of backgrounds with contrasting lights to make the message stand out. A pretty finishing touch to the decoration would be a ribbon at the end of the message and snowflakes painted on mini boards like the message.

Nativity scenes are a classic outdoor Christmas decoration and can never run out of style as they add a fun touch to the Christmas festivities as you add a figure each day until the day of Epiphany which is usually on February 2nd. Smaller sets only include Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, the stable and some farm animals while larger sets have the Three Wise Men, lambs and even shepherd boys. The Nativity scene can be as personal and unique as you want as the figures can be dressed up in whatever you choose.

MAKEUP INSPIRATIONS FOR THE HALLOWEEN

August 16, 2016 by Ema

The long awaited day is finally here, and many still lack Halloween makeup ideas. Getting the perfect costume is not enough; you need to top it up with a distinct and creative makeup. Copying your friends’ ideas or waiting for suggestions from the make-up artist should not be in question; get creative and surprise them with a theme they’ve never seen before. Think of something bizarre you would like to bring out in that day; hunt for a costume and we’ll wrap it all for you with a unique makeup. The following are innovative makeup themes to help you reinforce your character and costume.

1. Half face

This year you could think of having two faces for a Halloween makeup. This is an opportunity to explore your creativity in matching up two contrasting personalities with different themes. Here, we have the scary look of a witch on one side and the normal girl on the other side. A vampire and witch face could also work. If you are a fun of cartoons, incorporate the two characters you love such as painting a Spiderman and Batman face. Then combine the two faces with a broken stitched skin. A zigzag line or a zip is another option for bringing the faces together.

2. An aged vampire

As people are getting lively and scary, you can decide to be calm and composed with your Halloween makeup. A scary figure will be the theme for most people, and so you can use this idea to be different that day. Achieve a calm character by painting an old vampire makeup. Get your face as wrinkled as possible with many lines and a set of vampire teeth. With a straight unstyled hair, you’ll resemble an old and ugly vampire who have lived 100 years. You could also wear a white wig, to add to the elderly look. This makeup will work well with a baggy costume and a walking stick. Your friends will not recognize you!

3. Butterfly

Tired of scaring people and would like a Halloween makeup with a cutesy look? Then try your favorite insect painting; it is not as common as the animal art. For a bright and beautiful color, I’d go for an orange butterfly. A red, blue, green color could also do; any shouting color will make you the center of attraction. Along with a coordinated eye shadow, you’ll get the perfect match for your favorite shade. Stick the wings on the sides of the eyes and put on a matching lipstick. When this makeup is coupled with an orange outfit, you’ll have achieved a unique and colorful appearance.

4. Zipped face

This year is all about going unique with your Halloween makeup. Get your face detailed with a zipper to bring out the discrete aspect of you. The colored region gives the illusion of a hidden personality. If you would like to tell others ‘there’s a witch inside me,’ then give the small section a witch painting. A red or fiery facing would portray that you are dangerous. Be creative and come up with unique personalities. The larger section can be left for a normal look to make the smaller region the center of attraction. This will make heads turn as people try to figure out your makeup’s inspiration.

These makeup themes will give you memorable moments. Happy Halloween!
